As a Cheshire wedding photographer, I get to photograph at lots of stunning venues, in all seasons! This gorgeous winter wedding was set against the picturesque backdrop of Larkspur Lodge in Knutsford, with a sprinkling of snow on the ground.

Knutsford Wedding Venue

Becky and Mike’s wedding took place at Larkspur Lodge, a stunning venue in Knutsford, Cheshire.

The day began with Becky getting ready in the bridal suite, surrounded by her bridesmaids and family. They were such a friendly and fun group to hang out with, so it was easy to capture lots of laughs and happy moments. This is always one of my favourite parts of a wedding day.

Candlelit Ceremony

Becky & Mike said their vows in the atmospheric ceremony room, surrounded by flickering candlelight. It’s such a romantic setting! Becky was walked down the aisle by both her dad and daughter, to piano music played by Andrea Lamballe. It also turns out that Mike is big fan of Lord of the Rings (as am I!), so I was thrilled when the Hobbiton music started being played. Made me quite emotional!

As a wedding photographer in Cheshire, one of the things I adore about Larkspur Lodge is how versatile it is. The combination of the rustic charm of the venue, the natural light, and the gorgeous ceremony room, mean there are so many spots for photos.

It was also a treat to get to capture some snowy outdoor photos of the newlyweds.

Larkspur Lodge Reception Room

After the ceremony and some outdoor photos (and confetti!), everyone gathered inside where it was cosy. Their guests enjoyed drinks, and some even busted out some pre-dinner dance moves.

The reception room had a stunning backdrop of fairy lights for dinner and speeches. It was clear in the speeches how much Becky and Mike meant to each other and to the people who surrounded them. I always love hearing all the personal stories shared. When I spend a whole day with a couple and all their loved ones, I really feel like I know everyone by the end!

Party time

After dinner, the fun continued with Groove Noise’s DJ, Spencer Hickson and saxophonist Alastair Grant. Saxophonists are a really popular choice at the moment, they add so much fun to the dancefloor!

And then, of course, there were the evening pizzas—served outside from a pizza oven built into a fire truck! Anyone who chooses pizza as their evening snack is a friend of mine!
