I had taken some photos for this family before, and this time the mum wanted family photos for Christmas in an outdoor, forest setting. She also said that the family dog, a gorgeous beagle, would be joining in. I loved this idea - an outdoor photoshoot is perfect with young kids, as they can easily take breaks, run around and play, and I especially love including furry friends in my photos.
Being outdoors also means that we can move around for a change of scenery to get a nice mix of photos. And, another unexpected perk, the eldest made use of sticks to cast (nice) spells on me as I took photos.
I'll always take a mix of group family photos, individual shots, siblings shots, and lots of candid moments (my favourite!). When the children lose interest and want to run around, that's all good with me. If they're having fun and enjoying themselves, it'll show in the photographs, and you'll relax, too!
These sisters turned up in reindeer hairclips and a Christmas pudding onesie, so had nailed the 'festive' brief before we had even started.
