This lovely Nantwich-based family booked a photoshoot in their home town before their exciting trans-Atlantic move. They wanted photos captured in the town centre, and also in the riverside park. Being such a picturesque Cheshire town, there is no shortage of pretty backdrops in Nantwich!
They asked for natural, fun and candid photos, which is always music to my ears, as that is what I LOVE to capture. Trust me, those are the pictures that will bring back a rush of warm fuzziness years down the line.
Before a family photoshoot, I always like to get the lowdown on everyone with my questionnaire that I send over. I ask for the usual things like names and ages, but also what makes each person tick, what the children’s interests are - you know, the good stuff!
For this lovely bunch, the youngest, just five months, was into smiling adorably and cuddles with mum, dad and her 22-month-old sister. Now, this little dynamo was all about cows and Peppa Pig, so armed with that information, I made sure to get down on her level and chat to her lots during the photoshoot. Having young kids of my own, I’ve got a knack for connecting with little ones and making sure they’re having a blast during the family session.
Their family shoot was on a crisp, chilly Cheshire winter morning, but with the most magical light. We kicked things off by the church, then wandered down to the riverside loop park. We wrapped up the session at the family’s home, and it was lovely to photograph some cosy moments there before their big move.
I always aim to capture a mix of photos of people looking at the camera and interacting naturally, with fun and laughter, so you’ll find a nice mix of both in your family gallery. Scroll down to see more photos from this family’s session, and see more examples of my work here.
